A brief introduction...

I am an Iranian-American woman who was born and raised in Houston, TX. I somewhat recently graduated from Emerson College in Boston, MA with a degree in The Business and Practice of Theatre, which I self-designed so that I could study both the industry and artistry of theatre.

At the intersection of artistry and industry, my Capstone examines how we produce and intentionally develop theatrical works with feedback at the center. This Capstone consists of four components: an analytical paper, a reflection, a marketing plan, and a staged reading. I produced the staged reading for which I facilitated a post-show discussion as well as performed in. The reflection piece details my first experience with facilitating an environment for feedback. The marketing plan and implementation focus on drawing people to this event and better understanding our audience. The analytical paper examines pre-existing facilitation models and talkback guides to explore ways of balancing the needs of artists and audiences during feedback sessions. Overall, the goal is not only to understand our creative process, but also to improve it through an analysis of our relationship with critique and audiences.
